Material Handler Forklift Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, load, and unload materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
• Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
• Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
• Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking, sorting, and storing products in designated areas.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflows and maintain inventory accuracy within the warehouse management system.
• Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
• Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
• Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
• Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport.
• Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
• Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods

• Must be able to handle required lifting weight of up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to make frequent bending and twisting movements.
• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or as a forklift operator is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping & receiving procedures is beneficial.
• Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and operation is advantageous.

Qualifications

-Core skills in distribution center operations, materials handling, forklift operation, and warehouse experience
-Ability to operate heavy equipment and efficiently load/unload materials
-Proficiency in using reach trucks, order pickers, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other warehouse equipment
– Experience in warehouse management and supervision
– Familiarity with warehouse management systems
– Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance
-Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
